Getting To Napo Wilderness Center

For our visit to Yasuni National Park, nearly 2.5 million acres of lush Amazon rainforest, is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. We booked our stay with Napo Wilderness Center. The Napo Wildlife Center is the most successful community tourism project in Ecuador and is fully managed by the Indigenous Kichwa Añangu community. Getting there involves flying from Quito to Coca, just 30 minutes. Then a 2-hour power canoe trip down the Napo River to a transit area where the Añangu Creek flows into the Napo river. From there it is a 2-hour paddled canoe to Añangu Lake where the Napo Wilderness Centre lodge is located.
